UFC 88 event, which took place at Philips Arena in Atlanta, brought in an astonishing $2.6 million according to UFC President Dana White. White confirmed the numbers in a post-UFC 88 press conference.

The amount is the second highest total in the nine year history of the arena. Barely less than the amount earned by a 2006 Barbara Streisand concert. White was in good cheer about falling short of the record mark, saying that he “wants a rematch with Barbara.”

White also said the attendance for Saturday’s pay-per-view event was 14,736. The near capacity crowd was an uplifting feeling for the organization, and White said the UFC would most likely return to Atlanta in the future.

UFC 88 was the organization’s first trip to Georgia in over 11 years.

Augusta, Ga., played host to UFC 11 in 1996, as well as current heavyweight champion Randy Couture’s MMA debut at UFC 13 in 1997. Both events had a meager half empty, 8,500 seat Augusta Civic Center.
